The owner & photographer of lhernandezphoto. I love being able to capture those beautiful moments made between two people and feel blessed to work with amazing people every day.
Based out of Renton, WA, I have been shooting portraits and weddings for over five years. There isn't a day that goes by where I don't have my camera on me!
Timeless & Editorial Style
Timeless editorial style are photos that tell your story and cannot be measured by time or go out of style. Photos that are not so pose-focused and more people focused so that when you look back at them you re-live the essence of your day. Editorial styled photos are unique to every person, as every person has their own unique love story. It's my job to capture your story and make art that you will look back on and continue to love for all the years to come.
My approach
I work with natural light as much as possible and focus on capturing all the details that create the ambiance and set the day apart.
During photoshoots, I encourage you to feel as comfortable as possible with minimal posing and more prompts to get to know you as a person (plus, I think photos always turn out better when you're capturing a person's true smile).
At weddings, I follow the same approach and try to capture all those candid emotions coming from you and your guests throughout the day, while getting those details shots so that you can treasure the amazing work you did to make your wedding look like the wedding of your dreams!
When booking with me, you get a new bestie to hype you up and capture all of those important moments of life for you!

I have a 17 yr old pomeranian
I've had Rico since I was 9 years old, and funny story, when I first saw him, I thought he was a baby fox! I had never seen a Pomeranian before so when he ran into my arms, I literally cried (lol). Since then, Rico has been by my side no matter what and everyone who knows me, knows my pup means everything to me! I'm so proud to say he's 17 years old and still as young and full of personality as a puppy. Taking care of a senior dog is a bittersweet and rewarding experience, and I treasure the time I have left with him every day!

I'm engaged myself!
I met my fiancé in middle school believe it or not! We started off as friends before we realized in the 8th grade that we liked each other, but didn't start dating until after high school when we finally reconnected while he was home on leave from the Marine Corps. After about 4 years of dating long distance (and a lot of flying between WA and AZ to see each other), he's finally back home and we've been inseparable since! Michael proposed to me on May 21st, 2022 at our best friend's wedding (literally all of my friends were in on it, it was amazing) and we're so excited to plan our big day together!

I'm an ordained minister
When my best friend got engaged and asked if I would officiate her wedding, I of course was so honored to! I obtained my ordained certification in 2021 and when I tell you there's no better feeling than marrying your best friend to her person, believe it! Her ceremony was so beautiful and seeing all of her closest friends and family looking up at them with all the pride and love in the world, well, I'm surprised I didn't cry during the speech! (I did cry a lot throughout the rest of the day though lol)

Second Shooters
What are second shooters? They are photographers handpicked by your lead photographer to help assist them during the shoot!
Being handpicked by your lead photographer means that this person is someone they work well with and shoot similarly to produce photos that are consistent with your lead photographer's style, so you won't even notice the difference!
Second shooters are a great asset to you and your photographer because they are there to help with equipment to free up your photographer's hands, can take BTS videos for those surprise proposals, and most importantly, they can provide extra shots and angles of the day (which means, MORE photos with your gallery!)

What sets you apart from other photographers?
When shooting with me, your session will feel more like a hangout than a studio session. I'm a very chill person and understand what it's like to feel nervous in front of a camera. I pose naturally and guide clients to make them feel relaxed while looking their very best. I use natural lighting as often as possible and make sure my sessions are intimate & fun!
Will my photos be posted publicly on your site or social media?
I respect your privacy and allow each client to decide whether or not they want their photos displayed publicly. I’d love to show off you & your images, if you’re game! If not, that's okay, too.
DO YOU RETOUCH PHOTOS?
I do minor retouching, so if you have a big red zit or some fluff on your shirt, consider it gone! I believe you are beautiful just as you are, and will only highlight that beauty, not modify you completely! I also focus on background so if there's a distracting pole behind you, I will remove it.
Would you photograph my destination wedding?
I would love to travel for your wedding! I’m more than happy to create a custom wedding collection to suit your travel needs. I'm based out of western WA so travel rates may apply.
WHATS YOUR TURN AROUND TIME?
You will receive sneak peek photos within 48 hours of your shoot or wedding day. Full albums will be delivered within 2 weeks for portrait sessions, and within 8 weeks for weddings.
HOW DO WE GET OUR PHOTOS?
You'll get your high-resolution photos emailed to you in an online gallery through Pixieset, to download and share wherever you like.
How do we reserve our wedding date?
A 25% non-refundable retainer & signed contract is required in order to get your day on the calendar. The remainder of your balance is due two weeks prior to your wedding.
